Dinthill Alumni Spring Ball to feature Oliver Samuels

FT. LAUDERDALE – The Dinthill Technical High School Alumni Association, Florida Chapter, in association with County Line Chiropractic Centers will be hosting their fifth annual fundraising dinner dance on Saturday, March 3rd at the Signature Grand in Davie.

The guest speaker will be Miramar Commissioner and popular WAVS talk-show host Winston Barnes. Mr. Dennis Clarke, Principal of the school, will be honored for his outstanding leadership at the school.

The Dinthill “Spring Ball” has been established as a major fundraising event that is well supported by the community. The event has always delivered first-class entertainment as well as prominent speakers who inspire and entertain patrons.

This year is no different as Oliver Samuels, the King of Caribbean Comedy, will be hosting the event and is sure to have everyone laughing with his rib-tickling comedy.

The Mighty Vikings Band will provide music to the ears and feet of patrons and they will be ably supported by C-Roy the Entertainer during band breaks.

“We are grateful for the support of County Line Chiropractic Centers as the main sponsors with their generous contribution to the event. Their support has significantly assisted in making this event possible and strengthened the relationship we have developed over the years.” stated Freddy Bartholomew president of the association.

People’s Telecom has also signed on as a sponsor of the “Spring Ball” and has entered into a partnership with the Dinthill Past Students Association whereby a percentage of funds from a special Dinthill phone card will be donated to the organization. Other sponsors of the event are High-Class Promotions, Air Jamaica and Infinite Markets.

Patrons are urged to get tickets in advance as no tickets will be sold at the door. The doors will open at 8:00 p.m. and dinner will be served between 9-10 p.m. only. There will be lots of prizes and surprises including the gate prize of a trip for two to Jamaica on Air Jamaica.

Dinthill Technical High School is one of the foremost technical institutions in Jamaica; many of its graduates reside in South Florida and have formed a very vibrant and active alumni association which assists the school in various ways. Funds raised from the annual ball are used to support projects at the school as well as local charities such as the United Negro College Fund, Hurricane Relief Support in the U.S. as well as in the Caribbean.
