DC Chamber of Commerce features Trinidad and Tobago at International Business Forum

WASHINGTON, DC- Tourism, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and Creative Industries were some of the sectors that were highlighted by His Excellency Dr. Neil Parsan during his presentation at an International Business Forum that focused exclusively on business and investment opportunities in Trinidad and Tobago. The Forum was held at the DC Chamber of Commerce.

Co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the DC Chamber of Commerce, the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development, ExportDC and the US Commercial Service, the Forum brought together businesspersons from across the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia who were interested in learning more about our twin island republic.

During his presentation, Ambassador Parsan highlighted Trinidad and Tobago’s diversification strategy which focuses on the development of the non-energy sector. Downstream industries, the maritime economy, light manufacturing and capital markets have all been earmarked for development by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, in addition to the sectors mentioned earlier.

His Excellency also highlighted specific investment opportunities that are currently available in some of these sectors, including the unique investment opportunity that exists on the North-Western tip of Trinidad and Tobago – Chaguaramas. This area stands out as a multi-dimensional destination for visitors seeking a truly natural experience including mountains, waterfalls, natural caves and serene valleys. Chaguaramas also offers businesspersons the opportunity to develop villas, hotels, golf courses and a wide range of other services.

The DC Chamber of Commerce works closely with the DC business community to foster partnerships, improve the business climate and promote growth and development. The Chamber also works with international organizations in an attempt to increase exports of goods and services from DC businesses.
