CVM takes title sponsorship role for the 2007 Port Royal Music Festival

PORT ROYAL, Jamaica – CVM communications group has agreed to come on board as the title sponsor for Kingston’s premier music event, The Port Royal Music Festival. This will be the 2nd staging of the annual festival. The promoters of the Port Royal Music Festival take great pride in staging an event that exhumes quality and class.

Last year, in its inaugural staging, the festival began its run with an all white celebrity party that hosted guests such as Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men, and all the members of the soulful R&B group, Atlantic Starr. On Saturday night the festival sizzled on with the unforgettable performances of Tessane Chin, Luciano, Boyz II Men and Atlantic Starr just to name a few.

Christopher Blythe, director of Paradise Communications affirms that this year’s event will be even better than the last. Blythe remarked that, “Paradise Communications, with the help of our gracious sponsors including CVM, promise to deliver an unforgettable show with a fantastic line-up, which will include three Grammy award winning artists, Brian McKnight, Regina Belle and Maxi Priest and an array of other artists from various music genres.”

When asked about the value of the festival to CVM, Dr. David McBean, president of CVM communications group responded, “CVM communications group is the leader in entertainment and to become associated with such a premier event for the city of Kingston is a natural fit. CVM is very excited to be the title sponsor for the Port Royal Music Festival and we believe that this event is a marvelous opportunity to revive Port Royal. We not only want to see the festival flourish but we also have invested interest in seeing the city of Port Royal regain its glory. We have been associated with this event from the beginning and we plan to continue to give our support to this superior event.”

“CVM has a very strong appeal in terms of entertainment, so to have them come on board as the title sponsor for the event is very suitable,” commented Mr. Neville Blythe, chairman of Paradise Communications. When asked about some of the upcoming attractions of the festival, Neville Blythe assures us that the festival will be nothing short of spectacular.

The Port Royal Music Festival will be held from September 7-9. This year’s festivities will begin with a celebrity party themed “Pirates and Wenches”, which will be held at Morgan’s Harbour Hotel. On Saturday, September 8, the main show will take place at the Port Royal Entertainment Centre, and will feature artists such as Brian McKnight, Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Taurus Riley, Jimmy Riley, Leroy Sibblies and One Third.

The festival will come to an end with a revamped Sunday event, “Jazz on the Harbour,” which will feature some of Jamaica’s finest Jazz musicians, such as Dr. Cathy Brown, Susan Couch and Della Manley.
