Cricket Council USA will stage biggest and richest 20/20 Cricket Tournament in USA

FT. LAUDERDALE – Cricket Council USA will award $100,000 in prize money to the winner of the US T20 Cricket Tournament ’09. The Tournament will take place on April 5-12, 2009 in South Florida.

Forty eight (48) Cricket Clubs will compete in the Tournament. Thus far forty (40) teams have registered to participate. The Cricket Clubs are coming from the United States, Canada, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Australia, West Indies and United Arab Emirates.

Cricket Clubs from the United States will represent numerous states: California, Washington, Texas, Illinois, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Virginia and Florida.

Nearly one thousand (1,000) Cricketers will be on hand for this prestigious 20/20 Cricket Tournament. In addition, thousands of Cricket fans will flock to South Florida to see and cheer some of the best Cricketers display their skills.

MAQ Qureshi, Chairman & CEO of Cricket Council USA is encouraged by the response to the Tournament. “We are delighted by the response of the Cricket community to the US T20 Cricket Tournament. I envision a Cricket Festival atmosphere where Cricketers can engage each other in competition and friendship. I believe that this Tournament will elevate the level of Cricket that is played in the U.S.” stated Mr. Qureshi.

The following Cricket venues have been selected for the Tournament: Miramar Regional Park, Brian Piccolo Park, Lauderhill Sports Park, CCUSA’s Cricket Field and the Cricket Stadium at Central Broward Regional Park.
