Cresthaven Artist Presents Nobel Peace Prize Winner

SOUTH FLORIDA – Cresthaven Civic Association Board member, Sirju Seeharack Mohan,  has painted iconic portraits like President, Obama, First Lady, Michelle Obama, and  presented portraits to Pompano City Mayor, Lamar Fisher, Commissioner, Charlotte Burrie,  Florida State Representative, Gwyndolyn Clarke Reed, Ex Lieutenant Governor of Florida, Jennifer Carroll, the Prime Minister  of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad Bissessar, his Excellency, Dr. Neil Parsan, the Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago, and Trinidad and Tobago Consul  General of Miami, Dr. Anil Ramnanan.

He has painted Broward County Commissioner Chip Lamarca, Mahatma Gandhi, Jennifer Lopez, Martin Luther King, Trinidad and Tobago’s President, Anthony Carmona,  Minister of Works and Environment, Dr. Suruj Rambachan, International Oscar Award Winning Trinidad journalists, Laverne McGee, and radio and television Broadcaster, Gideon Hanoomansingh are named among dozens of others. One of his most recent masterpieces was commissioned by Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Tertiary Education, Dr. Fazal Karim of University of Trinidad and Tobago. The painting was that of Malala Yousafzai, the youngest and first Pakistani to win a Nobel Peace Prize. This was one of Sirju’s greatest hallmarks in his Art Career to have been selected to paint and present Malala when they were both invited to Trinidad and Tobago

Volunteering

When Sirju is not painting, he is volunteering his time with the Broward’s Sherriff Office as a Citizen Observer Patrol (COP).

Sirju promotes Unity in the Community in conjunction with the Broward Sherriff’s Office in Pompano Beach to unite cultures and nationalities in Pompano Beach.

Sirju gives back to the community by volunteering for Guardian Ad Litem, where he mentors abandoned children in foster homes. He represents the children in court and serves as their advocate to fundamentally transform their lives.

Donating

Sirju has donated some of his works as fund raisers for Indian Arrival Day Celebration held by the Trinidad Consul General in Fort Lauderdale in 2009. His has exhibited cultural and historical art works throughout Florida. Recently, his Artwork was displayed in The City of Pompano Beach Art Hall. Presently he is working on his third solo show

Awards

Sirju has received outstanding   Awards from Trinidad and Tobago’s Government on the 50th Anniversary of Independence Achievement Award in Art & Culture. He has been awarded by Broward Sherriff Office Pompano Beach, Fl Certificate of Appreciation for Volunteer Services, Volunteer of the Year Award, Citizen Observer Patrol, City Of Pompano Beach awarded him Unity in The Community, and The Award of Merit, Celebrated Trinidad and Tobago Artist by the Indian Arrival Day Celebration Committee.

Sirju Mohan is a rare find who is embraced as the Michelangelo of the Caribbean. This Pompano Beach resident has over fifty years of remarkable painting skills that transcend harmony and beauty of his colors, techniques, and  textures, encompassing all types of artworks  ranging from sculpture, calligraphy & paintings of all subject matters like high profile portraits, landscape, seascape to name a few. His artworks pop a mind blowing reality of extreme precision, timelessness, and imbue amazing wonder. Hence, no wonder he was commissioned to paint Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala.
