County Line Chiropractic Center Sponsors Reading Festival

County Line Chiropractic Center backs annual Louise Bennett-Coverley  Reading Festival and Scholarship Fundraiser- Feb.6, 2016

SOUTH FLORIDA – County Line Chiropractic Medical and Rehab Centers continues to demonstrate their continued support for Caribbean culture, and acknowledging the important role Miss Lou played in the validation of the Jamaican culture.

County Line Chiropractic Medical and Rehab Centres have again signed on, as “Dr. Bird” sponsors of the 9^th  annual Louise Bennett-Coverley Reading Festival and Scholarship Fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, February 6, at 2:00 p.m., at the Broward College Performing Cultural Arts Theatre, 7200 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines.

This year’s tribute, entitled “Lyrics, Laughter & Comedy in the Miss Lou Tradition” will be presented by veteran comedian, educator and writer – Owen Blakka Ellis – one of the beloved comedic duo, “Bello & Blakka” and will feature a supporting cast of local performers, including Dr. Susan Davis, Rev. Easton Lee, the Tallawah Mento Band, the Jamaican Folk Revue and the Sierra Norwood Calvary Baptist Church Children’s Group.

“We are delighted to have County Line Chiropractic Medical and Rehab Centers as a sponsor for this event. Their financial and promotional support will assist us in advancing Miss Lou’s legacy of education and culture and will also help fund the Louise Bennett Coverley Scholarship, tenable at both the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica, and Broward College, USA”, according to Mrs. Darby.

Maria Pazos, Chief Operating Officer of County Line Chiropractic Medical and Rehab Centres reiterated that “recognizing and preserving the legacy of a cultural icon such as Miss Lou (as she was affectionately known) is important to us at County Line. The Caribbean community has always been close to our hearts, and we are very fortunate to be able to partner with the Louise Bennett-Coverley Reading Festival, and to contribute to the scholarship fund.”

Florida chapter, and our valued media partners, added Mrs. Darby.  All donations will go to the Louise Bennett-Coverley Memorial Scholarships, (now in the tenth year, at the Edna Manley College and the second year, at Broward College)
