Copeland Forbes, veteran reggae music industry tour operator to celebrate birthday in South Florida

FT. LAUDERDALE – Veteran reggae music industry tour organizer/promoter, consultant and artiste manager, Copeland Forbes will be in South Florida with Gregory Isaacs and John Holt for the Reggae Indoor Jamboree and will be celebrating his birthday along with a Meet and Greet reception on Friday, July 31st at Top Hop Gardens located at 4340 North State Rd. 7 in Ft. Lauderdale starting at 6pm.

Copeland is considered Reggae music’s most accomplished tour manager who has had the unique distinction of being present at some of Jamaican music’s most significant moments including, the groundbreaking Peter Tosh tour with the Rolling Stones in 1977-78; Jimmy Cliff’s historic concert in South Africa in 1980; Black Uhuru’s sold out tour with the Police in 1982-83 and the first Reggae Sunsplash world tour in 1985.

On July 1, 2009 as part of the International Reggae Day™ Festival, media around the world were invited to join in saluting Island Records as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary and Artiste/Tour manager Copeland Forbes as he launched his “Reggae My Life Is” brand, for their invaluable contribution to the internationalization of Jamaican music and culture.

The Jamaica Independence Reggae Indoor Jamboree is scheduled for Saturday, August 1st at Club Cinema in Ft. Lauderdale and will feature: Gregory Issacs, John Holt, Frankie Paul, Singing Melody, Etana, General Degree, Honorebel, Tenor Blue, Ras Baba, Teena and the Code Red Band. Club Cinema is located at 3251 N. Federal Hwy. in Ft. Lauderdale and the show starts at 7pm.
