City of Miami to welcome representatives from the Haitian Government

Miami — City of Miami Commissioner Richard P. Dunn II and Ti Chapo will welcome members of the Haitian government to Miami during a reception taking place today, October 7, 2010 at 6:00p.m. in anticipation of the Miami Broward One Carnival. The reception will be held at the Little Haiti Cultural Center, located at 260 NE 59th Terrace.

Ti Chapo, Inc. is a Haitian organization based in South Florida, whose mission is to highlight and promote the rich culture of Haiti in Caribbean Carnivals nationwide. This is the fourth year Ti Chapo is participating in the now Miami Broward One Carnival. This year, Ti Chapo will have the honor of having members of the City of Jacmel, Haiti, the Haitian Ministry of Culture and Communication and the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad participate in the festivities.

The Miami Broward One Carnival will be held on Sunday, October 10th, 2010 at Sun Life Stadium in the City of Miami Gardens. The Carnival is a celebration of diversity in the Caribbean community where people of all nationalities come together to showcase their rich cultures including costumes, music, food and dance.
