City of Miami to hold free Financial Planning Clinic

MIAMI – The City of Miami ACCESS Miami Program is co-sponsoring and helping bring in a Free Financial Planning Clinic on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Miami Convention Center, 400 SE 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida. Larry Spring, Chief Financial Officer for the City of Miami, will give welcoming remarks to participants attending the event.

The Clinic, will provide tables manned by dozens of trained CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professionals who can answer consumers’ questions and offer a free informal, one-on-one conversation. Topics include:

– Cash Flow and Debt Management
– Retirement Planning
– Tax Reduction Strategies
– College Education Financing
– Investment Types and Strategies
– Estate Planning
– Insurance Planning

Additionally, the Clinic will feature a dozen educational workshops on topics such as Managing Debt from Credit Cards to Foreclosures, Launching a Financial Plan for Young Professionals, Financial Planning for Special Needs Family Members, and Planning for Your Financial Goals. Select workshops will be offered in Spanish.

The Miami Financial Planning Clinic follows the successes of Financial Planning Clinics held in Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, DC, where thousands consumers received free financial information from hundreds of volunteer CFP® professionals.
