Citizenship Days to assist greencard holders in Miami and Broward

MIAMI – The Florida New Americans program and the New Americans campaign are coming together with the National Partnership for New Americans for two upcoming Citizenship Days on May 31st and June 14th. Last summer, with the help of New Americans Campaign and the National Partnership for New Americans, we assisted over 2,000 Floridians who wanted to become New Americans.

This summer, they will have not one but two Citizenship Days in Miami and Broward. A coalition of legal service providers and volunteers will be at both events to assist eligible LPRs become U.S. citizens.

Earlier this month, the USCIS officially implemented the revised version of the N-400 naturalization application. Now doubled in length, the process will become more tedious and burdensome for green card holders to become citizens.

Additionally, both Citizenship Days arrive right in time before this year’s midterm elections. Legal permanent residents who apply in the beginning of the year, will have better chances to become citizens and register to vote in time for the elections in November.
