Celebrate Caribbean-American Heritage month at the Anancy Festival – June 28th

PEMBROKE PINES – Celebrate Caribbean-American Heritage month at the Anancy Festival on June 28th, 2014 at the South Broward Regional Library at Broward College located at 7300 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pine, Florida 33024.

The Anancy Festival, named for Anansi, the West African trickster of folklore, is a celebration of Caribbean-American culture that’s geared toward children and teens. The festival provides a unique way for youngsters to learn about Caribbean cultural heritage and experience a rich collection of stories, music and dance. Last year’s festival was held in 6 cities and drew over 800 attendants.

This event is free to the public and co-sponsored by the Broward Libraries and Jamaicans.com. Confirmed performances include:

Children’s Workshop: Story telling workshop by author, Geoffrey Philp

Dance: The Vanee School of Dance

The Anancy Festival is on Saturday, June 28th, 2014  from Noon – 5 PM at the South Broward Regional Library at Broward College located at 7300 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pine, Florida 33024.
