Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) launches new French website

PARIS, France – The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) is expanding the Caribbean’s reach in France in a language the French understand best. The CTO has launched its French website, www.caraibes-tourisme.fr, in Paris.

The launch took place ahead of Top Resa, the Paris international travel trade fair. Some 50 representatives from the media, tour operators and national tourist offices – as well as the president of the St. Martin Tourist Board, Mr. Daniel Gibbs – attended the launch and were given a tour of the site.

“The online travel market in France increased by over 24% in the first quarter of 2008, and with over 36 million internet users in France we have a great target audience,” said Julia Hendry, the CTO’s director of marketing for the UK and Europe.

“The French Antilles, and the Dominican Republic, both do well out of France, however there is a real lack of knowledge about the rest of the Caribbean, and this new site will certainly help fill this gap,” Ms. Hendry added.

The site will be updated locally by the CTO’s representatives in Paris, Interface Tourism, ensuring both trade and consumers have up to date information relating to their own marketplace.
