ST. LUCIA – St. Lucia is excited that the Caribbean Tourism Organization Chapter Presidents’ Retreat to will take place from Wednesday, November 29th to Sunday, December 2nd, 2006.
The CTO has 22 Chapters in United States and Canada and represents over 2,500 travel agents in North America. This will mark the first time St. Lucia has hosted this annual event and the first major event for the newly elected Chair of Caribbean Tourism Organization.
The goals of this four day event include:
• To develop activities, both educational and social for each Chapter in order to better promote the Caribbean region to its members and guests
• To further educate all Chapter Presidents on the St. Lucia tourism product so they can present a report about the destination to the members of the Chapters
• To create programs in which all Chapter members work together to promote the Caribbean region and to share information with their colleagues to make all Chapters more effective
The event will comprise of a welcome reception, a full day of meetings, and two days for the tourism department to present the destination of St. Lucia.
These two days will include a mini-trade show with the local suppliers, a destination and tourism presentation by the tourism board, and tours and site inspections of hotels and tourism attractions.
The event will be hosted by St. Lucia’s newly appointed Director of Tourism, Maria Fowell and is principally sponsored by the St. Lucia Tourism Board.
Participants will be hosted by the Royal by Rex Resorts with additional sponsors to include the St. Lucia Hotel & Tourism Association, Almond Resorts, Anse Chastenet, Rendezvous, theBodyHoliday leSport, Sandals Resorts and local suppliers.
