Caribbean Saturday’s on 1080AM WTPS changes line-up

MIAMI – 1080 AM has been the home for Caribbean Saturday’s for the past 24 years with Eddy Edwards, Mike Andrews and Don Daly.

On Thursday, October 18, 1080-AM WTPS was bought by California-based Salem Communications, over $12 million. Under the new ownership, the format has changed to an English-language Christian talk format.

The longest running Caribbean Programming in South Florida has been impacted with the change in ownership.

At first, there was concern that the Caribbean line-up would no longer be heard on 1080 AM. Not wanting to leave a void in the Caribbean community, negotiations were held and Caribbean Saturday’s will continue to be broadcasted on 1080 AM, but not without changes.

The new Caribbean Saturday’s line up is as follows:

– Caribbean Upliftment Program with Don Daly: 3pm-5pm

– Caribbean Riddims hosted by Eddy Edwards: 5pm-7pm

– South Florida Caribbean Sportsline will be aired at their usual time: 7pm-9 pm

The Caribbean Connection Show with Mike Andrews will air on 1580am from 11am to 2 pm.

At this time, information on Caribbean Crossroads with Attorney Marlon Hill, is not available but you can visit www.marlonhill.com and stayed tuned to Caribbean Saturday’s and South Florida Caribbean News for updates as to where his show can be heard.
