Caribbean Love Now to Provide Rehabilitation Work in Dominica

Caribbean Love Now and Commonwealth of Dominica Sign MOU for Rehabilitation Work

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Caribbean Love Now (CLN) and the Commonwealth of Dominica have announced a new cooperation agreement for rehabilitation work on education and health facilities destroyed in the 2017 hurricane season.

Under the agreement, CLN will repair buildings at Goodwill and Vielle Case Primary School; Dos D’Ane Health Centre; and Portsmouth Hospital.

“Last year’s hurricanes forever changed Dominica, but we are resolute to rebuild. Caribbean Love Now was one of the first organisations to visit the island and offer support after the storms. We are grateful for their continued commitment to restore education and health and thereby improve the lives of our people,” said Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister.

“Dominica needs our help following the tremendous loss and destruction of Tropical Storm Erika in August 2015 and Hurricane Maria in September 2017. Nearly one year later it is critical for us to continue our support to help the island “build back better” and be even more prepared to face future storms,” said Joe Bogdanovich, Chairman, Caribbean Love Now.

CLN has raised US$250,000 hurricane recovery mainly through the Jamathon Concert Telethon and Concert November 22, 2017. The foundation is committed to supporting the Caribbean by providing disaster relief and recovery support, with a focus on rebuilding for climate resilience.
