Caribbean Bar Association Host Its 20th Annual Gala

Caribbean Bar Association Host 20th Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet 

SOUTH FLORIDA  –  The Caribbean Bar Association (“CBA”) will celebrate its 20th Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six, 2301 SE 17th St, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316.

The banquet is the CBA’s signature fundraising event for its Scholarship Program, which funds paid judicial and public interest legal internships for law students in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

Caribbean Bar Association Honorees

This year’s honorees include Barron Channer, CEO of BACH Real Estate; Judge W. Matthew Stevenson, Fourth District Court of Appeal; and Food For The Poor represented by Angel Aloma.

The theme for this year’s Banquet is, Partnering for Progress. “The CBA enjoyed an exceptional year of forging great partnerships with other minority bar associations, laws schools and community organizations. We are particularly proud of co-hosting various citizenship and voter’s registration drives, candidate forums, and working with the Judicial Diversity Initiative” remarked outgoing President Michelle T. Bell.

The banquet will be hosted by radio personality Keith “Papa Keith” Walcott of WMIB 103.5 The Beat and television personality Carla Hill of South Florida’s PBS station WPBT2 and Theatre Education & Outreach Manager for South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center.

Guests will be treated to Caribbean-themed cuisine, raffle prizes, exciting musical and cultural performances and dancing throughout the night.
