”Caribbean-Americans and the American-Dream” book giveaway contest for Caribbean-American Heritage month

MIAMI – In celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage Month, Geoffrey Philp’s Blog Spot in coordination with Akashic Books and Jamaicans.com (www.jamaicans.com) will be hosting a book giveaway contest on the theme, “Caribbean-Americans and the American Dream.”

“We believe this month is very important to the Caribbean community and felt there was a need for an online event to honor this” commented Geoffrey Philp. “This is an opportunity for everyone to join in the conversation about the many contributions that Caribbean-Americans have made to shaping the history, culture, and ideals of the United States.

Geoffrey Philp’s Blog Spot which features interviews, fiction, poetry, podcasts, and literary events with Caribbean and South Florida writers has become, according to Global Voices, “an important meeting place for Caribbean writers and readers.”

“I also grateful for the support from Johnny Temple of Akashic Books who has so graciously donated these books by some of the finest writers from the Caribbean,” added Philp, “and this is an opportunity to share the wealth of our literature with the wider community.”
