Caribbean-American Running for Broward County Commission District 8

PEMBROKE PINES – Caribbean-American Christopher Max Ziadie is running for the office of the Broward County Commission District 8. This district encompasses Miramar, West Pembroke Pines, Weston, Southwest Ranches, Pembroke Park, Northwest Hallandale Beach and West Park; in Broward County.

Chris decided to run for this seat because he strongly believes there is a need for this District to be represented by a regular, trustworthy citizen with well rounded business management experience and people skills. “I will bring a fresh perspective and a true willingness to fight for what is in your best interest, instead of what is best for special interests”, says Christopher.

According to Chris, “My commitment to you is based on my belief that our families’ and communities’ needs are of the utmost importance”. “A commissioner is elected to work for the constituents – not the other way around”. As a family man, I am committed to dealing head on with the issues facing our community without making any empty promises.

Campaign Goals

Some of the issues I will be focusing on are:

• keeping property taxes low
• supporting and keeping small business
• upholding ethical behavior at all times
• addressing the county budget crisis
• restoring the public trust by bringing back accountability

Background

Christopher was born in Kingston, Jamaica in October 1965, migrated to the United States with his family and grew up in South West Dade County.

He is married to a wonderful and loving woman named Josie, a Nurse Practitioner, for 15 years and have a lovely 14 year old daughter named Kayla who loves to play goalie whenever she plays soccer.

They have been living in Pembroke Pines, Florida for almost 10 years. Prior to living in Pembroke Pines the Ziadie’s lived in the State of New Hampshire and before that in Miami. “We have been faithful members of Pines Baptist Church and I have been serving on the governing body of the personnel and finance committee as co-chair” says Chris. Josie and I have taught Sunday school to the children for many years and we are both certified Crown Financial instructors for our church, where we have taught members of our church community how to manage their finances based on biblical principles.

Chris has over 26 years of experience in the business management arena for well known companies such as The Home Depot/Expo Design Centers; Bed, Bath & Beyond and Toys R Us. He has extensive training and experience in leadership, human resource management, organizational development, business finance and problem solving skills. “I am a trustworthy and honest man of faith – committed to transparency and ethical management of the public trust”, commented Chris.

“I will fight for your families first in all I do and be your voice on the Broward County Commission”. “I humbly welcome the opportunity to earn your vote this coming August 24th, 2010” says Chris.
