Caribbean Airlines launches exclusive Carnival t-shirts with top Carnival artistes

PIARCO, Trinidad — Duty free shopping will never be the same again! Just one week before the official start of Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago, top chutney crossover artiste Hunter together with the Machel Montano HD crew got together for the launch of Caribbean Airlines’ exclusive ole mas carnival t-shirt collection. Well-known personalities on the Carnival circuit, Farmer, Zan, Patrice Roberts and Umi Marcano, were just some of the artistes on hand to launch the collection.

Featuring five ole mas characters which were the cornerstone of Trinidad Carnival in years gone by, Fancy Indian, Dame Lorraine, Jab Molassie, Pierrot Grenade and Moko Jumbie are all part of the collection only available at the airline’s duty free store at Piarco International Airport. Caribbean Airlines Director of Retail Services Michael Roberts explained that the airline is eager to showcase this collection as the characters are a part of a traditional Carnival which is quietly dying in Trinidad. “We need to ensure that the diverse culture and history of traditional mas is not swept away as Carnival continues to develop at a rapid pace. We at Caribbean Airlines feel that we have an obligation to do our part to preserve local culture and traditions.”

The designs are available on both black and white t-shirts, and customers should not worry if they are not flying through the airport in Trinidad and are not able to get to the Caribbean Airlines Duty Free Store.

Passengers flying with the airline will have the opportunity to win the free t-shirts as the airline plans to have on-board promotions. The general public can try their luck to win these exclusive t-shirts when the airline runs a special promotion on local radio. Listeners will have to dial in and quote the price of Caribbean Airlines’ flights to New York, Miami or Fort Lauderdale to be eligible for a range of prizes.
