Toronto, Canada – The Turntable Restaurant is one of GTA’s best kept secret. And yet, it has fed and entertained some of the biggest names in the reggae Music industry. As owner Grandmaster Rosa puts it, “when you visit The Turntable, you have a 90% chance of running into a celebrity.

Incepted in 2009, this quaint celebrity hang out is located at 7171 Torbram Road, Mississauga, Ontario. Only minutes from Pearson International Airport, it allows for easy access from Brampton, Malton and Toronto. Upon entering the Turntable, one cannot help but feel the warm, inviting and delightful, Jamaican influenced ambiance. From the reggae music playing in the background, the hot and friendly wait staff to the display of reggae stars on the wall you are not only compelled to feel welcome and at home, but know you are in for an awesome time.

This beautiful, young, sleek, and humble Jamaican eatery has catered to the likes of: Richie Stephens, Frankie Paul, Bonnie Casey, Steele, Tony Anthony, Marcia Griffiths, Copeland Forbes, Copper Cat, Tinga Stewart, Beres Hammond, Stone Love Crew, Spice, Freddie McGreggor and John Holt to name a few. When asked if he original plan was to cater to celebrities, The Turntable’s manager Sandra Sylburne had this to say: “ The original intend was to create an environment that is nice, warm, friendly, cozy, and inviting. Most importantly, to ensure we provide the best quality, the tastiest and the freshest foods for our patrons. Another important factor is that we treat each and every customer like a VIP. This is as true for Frankie Paul as it is for the one foot man walking in here with his pegleg. Its about maximum respect.”

“This philosophy to treat everyone like a VIP, had paid off in a huge way. As most of the locals who visit us once usually return and spread the word as well. Another key to our success is our menu: We specialize in authentic Jamaican cuisine. Fish, and other seafoods, rice and peas, oxtail, curry goat and various soups. The most popular menu item is fresh steam fish made to the patron’s liking. So our success is based on many contributing factors.” As can be assumed, Turntable’s owner Grandmaster Rosa’s longevity in the music business has also contributed the attraction of high profile clientele.

Another attraction is the Sunday night oldies show. This is a very popular hangout for Torontonians and others in and around the GTA. Usually by 11:00 PM on a Sunday night, The Turntable is packed to capacity. By far the most popular Jamaican restaurant and nightspot in the GTA.
