Broward AWARE! Protecting OUR Children 8th Annual Family Fun and Resource Fair

BROWARD – The 8th Annual Broward AWARE! Protecting OUR Children campaign Family Fun and Resource Fair is a day of fun, entertainment and presentations on how to keep children happy, nurtured and safe. Broward AWARE!

Protecting OUR Children is an awareness campaign that uses the full spectrum of media to ensure that Broward County families, educators, media, law enforcement and all stakeholders use and share resources that make it possible for children to safely realize their full potential, hopes and dreams.

The 8th Annual Broward AWARE! Protecting OUR Children campaign Family Fun and Resource Fair will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Rev. Samuel Delevoe Park, 2520 NW 6th St., Fort Lauderdale.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Keeping children safe, and understanding the breadth of what comprises abuse and neglect, is everyone’s responsibility.

The day’s activities will include the participation of Rodney Baltimore from Hot 105, the Pinwheels for Prevention Truck Tour,  the ever popular BSO “Paint-a-Fire Truck”, an interactive “Teen Zone”, bagful’s of fresh fruits and produce from the Feeding South Florida, face painting, dozens of resource tables including Water Smart Broward swim lessons coupons, a series of mini-workshops on keeping children safe (safe sleep practices, drowning prevention, basic communications skills for raising happy, healthy children and more), raffle prizes for the entire family and free food and refreshments.

In addition, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers will be on hand to provide soccer mini-clinics and more fun activities for all.
