Bonaire to host first Investment Conference

Kralendijk, Bonaire – Investors from all over the world are invited to Bonaire September 27 – 29, 2005 for the Island’s first Investment Conference.

The three-day conference and trade show will highlight the excellent investment opportunities available in Bonaire and focus on investment areas including tourism, e-commerce, medium and small business development, airport and seaport business development, telecommunications, ecological projects, health-oriented projects, agriculture, livestock and fisheries.

The event will open on September 27 with a wine and cheese kick-off party and in addition to conference and trade show activities will feature happy hours with music, a gala dinner and an afternoon to explore the Island.

“I think the mission statement for the Conference summarizes our philosophy regarding future development very well – ‘development is predicated upon the philosophy that Bonaire’s economic growth must be controlled, sustainable and quality balanced and must offer significant benefits for the Bonairean population, while at the same time respecting Bonaire’s nature, culture and identity,'” said Burney el Hage, Bonaire’s Commissioner of Economic and Labour Affairs. “Adhering to this philosophy is the cornerstone of successfully growing all facets of industry in Bonaire.”

The cost to attend the Investment Conference is $100 for one day and $200 for two days – the third day is free. Registration for the Conference and trade show will take place on both September 27 and 28. Accommodations and rental cars, at special rates, as well as airfare can also be arranged.
