Big Ship’s captain, Freddie McGregor to sail into Vintage Reggae Festival – Feb 19th

MIRAMAR – With just days to go, anticipation for the upcoming Vintage Reggae Winter Festival, set for Sunday, February 19, is at a high as fans prepare to welcome the Big Ship captain, Freddie McGregor back to South Florida this weekend. Freddie is set to share the stage with the Reggae Queen Marcia Griffiths and King Yellowman along with Leroy Sibbles, Charlie Chaplin, Professor Nuts and Little John, making this a show that cannot be missed!

Sailing into town armed with an extensive repertoire of hits, spanning the Studio One days to his current remake of the classic “A House is Not A Home”, Freddie is ready to entertain patrons with his delivery of rocking smooth melodies of Reggae on Sunday at Miramar Regional Park, located at 16801 Miramar Parkway, just west of I-75. A favorite of the South Florida audience, Freddie will have everyone singing, dancing and calling for more when he takes the stage at the initial installment of Vintage Reggae Winter Festival.

Tickets have been selling at a brisk rate, reports a spokesman for the promoters, and with Monday being a holiday, the show has attracted interest from places such as Orlando, Atlanta, Georgia, New York and even The Bahamas. Advance tickets can be purchased at selected outlets in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties and online at AboveAverageEntertainment.net for $32. An advance VIP package is available for $60.00 which includes premium parking and refreshment. The City of Miramar will charge a parking fee of $5.00 per vehicle, payable upon entering the park.

Vendors have also shown their enthusiasm to the event as just about all food vendor booths have been sold with a few Arts & Crafts booths still available. Expect a variety of tasty offerings from Jerk Chicken to Curry Goat and more. Sponsors Grace Foods will be sampling some of their Tropical Rhythm juices and coconut water as well as their popular banana and plantain chips, plus offering prizes to lucky patrons.
