Bermudian Pro Soccer Star praised by Bermuda’s Premier

HAMILTON, Bermuda – Bermuda’s Premier Dr. Ewart F. Brown is lauding Bermudian Major League Soccer star Khano Smith after watching his exemplary play in a high-profile game versus David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The game was August 30th, 2008, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the home stadium of Mr. Smith’s New England Revolution team.

Following the game the Premier said, “Khano is a wonderful example for young men and women in Bermuda. He comes from a strong family and represents them and Bermuda well.

“From a fan perspective we were treated to a fantastic personal performance by Khano and a tremendously exciting game.”

The game’s final result was 2-2. Khano Smith recorded an assist in the game.

Mr. Smith said, “It was great having the Premier and his wife at my game. I am a big supporter of his and what he is doing for Bermuda, and I’m glad that he was there supporting me in such a big match. Speaking to him afterward it seems he had a blast!”

The New England Revolution traditionally conducts part of its pre-season training in Bermuda.
