Barbuda develops 10 year tourism plan

ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA – Barbuda will take the first step towards developing its own 10 year tourism master plan, as a two day tourism summit gets underway this week.

Head of the Barbuda Council Tourism Committee, Senator Mackenzie Frank, says the aim is to identify potential niche tourism markets.

Relevant stakeholders will take part in the event and Barbuda council workers will also conduct a public survey on tourism-related issues.

The summit will target stakeholders in the industry including owners and managers of K-Club, Coco Point, Lighthouse Bay Resort, Beach House; guesthouse owners, as well as water and land taxi proprietors.

Tourism is the second largest contributor to revenue on the sister isle. The two-day summit begins on Thursday, December 2nd.
