Bahamian American, Michael A. Hepburn Running For Congress

Michael A. Hepburn, “It’s Time For A New Perspective – Not More Millionaires And Politicians”

MIAMI – According to Michael A. Hepburn, after the presidential election, my family, friends and a lot of my neighbors, started having conversations about how it was time for something different to happen in our country.

We talked about how extraordinary ordinary people were not seated at the table of government. We talked about the day-to-day challenges and barriers that people in our district encounter – we simply do not need more Millionaires or Politicians running to represent us.

What do we need?

We need authentic, working-class and middle-class people to run for and win seats all across the nation to shape the public policy that affects us all… Our vast perspectives are important and need to be heard.

We need people who believe in creating a 21st century economy, which is built on the foundation of a living wage, affordable housing, and financial investments in rebuilding our infrastructure and transit systems.

We need champions for public education who will create pathways to success from Pre-K through 20, and debt free higher education.

We need people who will stand for fair and equal justice, and who will advocate for the expansion of Social Security, Medicare and access to affordable healthcare – since it is a right not a privilege.

I also believe that we, the people, must protect our values, preserve our environment and fulfill our obligations to our veterans who stand and stood on guard for us.

When candidates decide to run for public office they normally have a choice of how they will qualify – they can pay the fee or go directly to the people and ask for their support through the petition process.

I am laser-focused on bringing forth “A New Perspective – Our Perspective” as we gather petitions each day to qualify for this office.

I am not the manufactured candidate that normally gets recruited to run for public office, but I can tell you first-hand as an Bahamian/African-American, becoming Bilingual, Male, Democrat – there’s definitely a path to victory here and our candidacy for Congress will be history making.

I wake up every day aspiring to inspire others to believe in their dreams and their goals.

My name is Michael A. Hepburn and I am running for Florida’s 27th Congressional District.

A New Perspective,

Michael A. Hepburn, M.S.Ed.
