Asian trade mission visits T&T

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – New trade and investment opportunities will be explored when more than 60 companies from India, Bangladesh and Singapore visit Trinidad and Tobago from June 2-8, 2008.

The trade and investment mission was organized by the High Commission of Trinidad and Tobago, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry, in addition to Evolving TecKnologies and Enterprise Development Company Limited (eTecK), Tourism Development Company, Tobago House of Assembly and with the support of the private sector.

Members of the delegation are seeking to deepen relations and discuss joint opportunities for trade and investment in areas such as health, ICT, tourism, textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, petrochemicals, steel and other industries.

Opportunities will be provided both in Trinidad and in Tobago for participants in the mission to meet in small groups with Government leaders and investors to learn about the business environment of the country.

This trade and investment mission will provide an opportunity for further developing economic interactions between the Trinidad and Tobago business sector and the participating firms.
