Arrest is made in Stepa Henry case

MIAMI – Homicide detectives with the Miami-Dade Police Department have arrested Kendrick Williams, 32, on Tuesday morning in Brooklyn, N.Y. Williams is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Stepha Henry, 22.

Henry disappeared on May 29, 2007, while vacationing in Miami. She was last seen at Peppers Café Nightclub in Sunrise.

According to police, Williams drove Henry to the nightclub the night she disappeared. Initially, Williams told investigators he had left the club early and that Henry decided to stay, police said.

After months of pleas from Henry’s family, friends and the Caribbean community, police received a tip in September that led them to the Acura. Detectives found evidence in the car that linked Williams to Henry.

Detectives are questioning Williams in New York, and at this time there is no word yet on when Williams will be extradited to Florida..
