Norman Manley International Airport Public-Private Partnership Invitation for Prequalification deadline extended to May 1, 2017

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Government of Jamaica (the “GOJ”), through the Ministry of Transport and Mining is seeking a private sector operator with proven experience in the airport sector to operate, finance, develop and maintain the Norman Manley International Airport (“NMIA”) under a long term concession agreement (the “Project”).

International Finance Corporation (“IFC”), a member of the World Bank Group, has been appointed by the GOJ as lead advisor on the structuring and implementation of the Project.

The Development Bank of Jamaica (“DBJ”), the GOJ’s Privatization Agency and PPP Unit are co-advisors and Secretariat for the transaction.

The GOJ, IFC and DBJ are launching this invitation for prequalification applications (the “Invitation for  prequalification”) for companies or consortia with experience in the airport sector.

This Invitation for Prequalification forms the first phase of the international competitive bidding process for the Project.

The GOJ intends to select the private sector operator for the Project through an open, transparent and competitive international bidding process, in accordance with the Jamaican law and international best practices, with the objective of commercially signing the concession agreement by the last quarter of 2017.

In response to this Invitation for Prequalification, any person wishing to submit a prequalification application for the Project should request the prequalification document (the “Prequalification Document”) available for download on www.dbankjm.com and www.nmiaopportunity.com.

Further information on the Project is contained in the information memorandum which is also available for download on the website.

The prequalification application submission deadline has been extended to May 1, 2017 at 12:00pm Kingston time.
