Antigua Hosts ICT Conference

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – The Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and Telecommunications is collaborating with the Commonwealth Secretariat in hosting a workshop on “Process Re-engineering through ICT’s for Improved Public Sector Service Delivery”.

The five-day workshop, which will attract international and regional facilitators and participants, will examine how ICT’s can enhance best practices and delivery methods in the public sector.

Minister of State with responsibility for Information, Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Hon. Dr. Edmond Mansoor says the collaboration of the Government with the Commonwealth in the hosting of this workshop is indicative of the Government’s recognition of the relevance and importance of ICT’s in the reform of the public sector.

Participants from Antigua will be drawn from the Ministries of Information, Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Labour and Public Administration, Education, Youth Affairs and Sports and Finance and the Economy.

The Commonwealth has supported the Government’s development of the ICT sector by providing an ICT expert, Roger De Peiza.

De Peiza is currently piloting an electronic readiness survey in the private sector. This will be followed by a survey in the public sector.
