Air Jamaica Departs To Barbados With Twice Weekly Flights

NEW YORK – From July 2nd to August 30th, 2009, Air Jamaica will operate two weekly flights between New York and Barbados to provide service for those looking for a summer holiday in Barbados, and for Barbadians, friends and relatives in the tri-state area traveling home for the summer.

Air Jamaica, Barbados and STS Vacations have introduced an exclusive limited time offer — the Bajan Invasion. Starting at $500 per person (plus tax $82.70), inclusive of hotel and airfare, travelers can enjoy a 3-night Barbados escape between July 2 and August 30, 2009 — just in time for the island’s famed Crop Over celebration.

Visitors on the Bajan Invasion program can take advantage of the following:

– Airfare on AIR JAMAICA from JFK
– 3 nights hotel accommodation at The Rostrevor Hotel (based on double occupancy)
– Roundtrip airport transfers
– Travel between July 2nd and August 30th, 2009
Government taxes including departure taxes

The Bajan Invasion package may be booked through STS Vacations by logging on to www.stsvacations.com or calling 866-875-4565.

Air Jamaica’s twice weekly flights will depart John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) each Thursday and Sunday at 12:50 a.m. and arrive in Barbados (BGI) at 5:00 a.m. The return flight will depart Barbados at 6:30 a.m. and arrive at JFK at 11:30 a.m. The newly launched ‘Bajan Invasion’ package gives you the perfect excuse to book your Air Jamaica getaway to Barbados through STS Vacations and benefit from the huge savings.

“We are of course very happy that Air Jamaica has made these flight commitments,” said Richard Sealy, Barbados Minister of Tourism. “Barbadians who live outside of the island look forward to vacationing at home especially during Crop Over, and are significant to our tourism strategy. We are thrilled that Air Jamaica is making it easy for them to travel to our island during this period.”

“This is a great opportunity for Air Jamaica to serve the Caribbean and we know these flights will have a huge impact. Our schedule allows passengers to arrive in Barbados early in the morning so they will enjoy the entire day with friends and family,” said George deMercado, the airline’s Senior Director, Global Sales.
