MIRAMAR – Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis and the City of Miramar Parks & Recreation Department are sponsoring the 3rd Annual South Florida Multi-Cultural Games featuring the University of Technology, Jamaica on Monday, April 28th at the Ansin Sports Complex located at 10801 Miramar Boulevard.
The games are a track & field meet that features several world class caliber athletes from the Caribbean and the U.S. who are returning from competing in the Penn Relays.
Commissioner Davis states that, “Miramar continues to make its mark upon the track & field world with premier events such as this taking place on our world class track at Ansin. I have no doubt that Miramar someday will witness a world record performance on our track. The event truly highlights the caliber of athletes throughout the Caribbean and in the U.S.”
Currently over 721 athletes will be competing from schools, clubs and countries such as the Atoms, Anguilla, Bethune-Cookman (M & W), Broward Elite (M), Chelmsford AC (M & W), CHTA, Cla Delfos (M & W), Concordia-Selma (M), Dominion Track Club (W), Double Pillars Athletics, Fast Lane Track Club, Florida Memorial (M), Georgia Southern Running Club (M), Gold Rush (M &W), Great Britain, Guyana, Haiti, HyTech Tigers (M), Johnson & Wales (Fla.) (M & W), Lagunna SSS (M), Mizuno, University of Miami (M), North Florida (M) and Nova Southeastern (M), Shore AC, St. Peter’s and University of Technology, Jamaica.
The Opening Ceremony will start at 3:45 pm. Field events will begin at 12:00 pm and track events will start at 4:00 pm.
Admission for spectators is FREE.
