4th Annual Business Education and Development for the Caribbean scheduled for May 27

NASSAU, Bahamas – Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace, Secretary General of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) is this year’s keynote speaker at the 4th Annual Business Education and Development Seminar, a partnership between The United States Embassy, the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce, and The Bahamas Development Bank. The seminar will be held at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel on May 27.

Mr. Vanderpool Wallace headlines a stellar list of local and international speakers inclusive of Keith Stokes, Executive Director of the Newport Chamber of Commerce, Rhode Island; President and CEO of British American Financial, Chester Cooper; Managing Director of ScotiaBank (Bahamas) Ltd., Barry Malcolm; President of John S. George, Andrew Wilson; Owner and operator of the Flying Fish Marina in Long Island, Mario Cartwright; President and Managing Director of Galleria Cinemas and Bennigan’s, Christopher Mortimer; Jerome Pinder, Manager Small Business Division, Royal Bank of Canada; Ron Atkinson, Principal, Ronald Atkinson & Co.; Jerome Ferguson, Manager, Bahamas Development Bank and Inspector Sandra Miller, Officer in Charge, Community Policing, Royal Bahamas Police Force.

The CTO Secretary General will speak on the topic “Tourism as a Tool in Business & Entrepreneurial Development: Think inside the Box!”.

Born in Nassau, Bahamas, Mr. Vanderpool-Wallace attended the Government High School, where he won the Principal’s Prize and later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree cum laude from Harvard University. He also holds an MBA degree from the University of Miami from which he graduated in 1981 at the top of his class.

The former Director General of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Chairman of the Management Committee of the Bahamas Tourism Training Centre, Director of both the Central Bank of The Bahamas and the Bank of The Bahamas and Chairman of the Hotel Corporation of The Bahamas where he participated in the privatization of eight government owned hotels; Mr. Vanderpool-Wallace’s list of accomplishments and honors speaks to his unparallel talent and leadership within the tourism industry.
