Jamaica's hotels among Top 10 in TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice Awards

Kingston, Jamaica – Three of Jamaica’s hotels have been voted in the top 10 of TripAdvisor’s 2010 Travelers’ Choice awards, which are based on the millions of real and unbiased reviews and opinions from travelers on TripAdvisor.com, the world’s most trusted source of travel advice.

“Jamaica is proud of its tourism product, and its success largely depends upon accommodations that cater to the needs of travelers, providing unparalleled service and amenities, which inspire visitors to return year after year,” said Director of Tourism, John Lynch. “Recognition by TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards from travelers who have experienced the hotel product first-hand illustrates that Jamaica is a world-class destination,” he added.

The Caves (No. 3), Jamaica Inn (No. 8) and Royal Plantation (No. 10) have been voted by travelers as among the Top 10 Luxury Hotels in the Caribbean & Mexico. The Caves received the coveted No. 1 position for Top 10 Hotels for Service in the Caribbean & Mexico and additional commendations for Top 10 Hotels for Service in the World and Top 10 All Inclusive Resorts in the World, where the resort placed No. 8 and No. 2 on the lists, respectively.

This latest recognition adds to a long list of accolades recently awarded to the island and its tourism product. Among them: “Best Caribbean Destination” at the Travel Weekly Readers’ Choice Awards; and “Leading Caribbean Destination”, “World’s Leading Cruise Destination”, “Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination”, “Caribbean’s Leading Airline” – Air Jamaica, and “Caribbean’s Leading Airport” – Sangster’s International Airport at the 2009 World Travel Awards.
