OAS and UN continue collaboration in Haiti

WASHINGTON - The Secretary General of the Organization of the American States (OAS), Jose Miguel Insulza, and the Assistant Secretary General, Albert R. Ramdin, met today with the Director of the Europe and Latin American Division of the United Nations (UN), David Harland, at the headquarters of the organization in Washington, D.C.

The meeting dealt with the international programs currently taking place in Haiti and other points of collaboration between both organizations in the present and future in the Caribbean nation.

“The OAS and the UN have a common objective in Haiti. For that we maintain constant contact on site as well as from afar, and we will keep doing so. The OAS was, is, and will be engaged in the future of Haiti and of the Haitians,” said Secretary General Insulza.
