Trinidad & Tobago's 50th Anniversary Celebration Takes to the Runway in New York City


Port of Spain, Trinidad – As part of a diverse offering of events dedicated to celebrating Trinidad & Tobago’s 50 years of independence, Anya Ayoung Chee, tourism ambassador and winner of Project Runway season nine with support from the Tourism Development Company of Trinidad & Tobago (TDC) and Tobago House of Assembly Division of Tourism (THA), hosted a night of fashion and culture on June 6, 2012, as Ayoung Chee previewed her 2012 Summer Collection in New York. Held in the trendy West Village at 632 on Hudson, the cultural extravaganza, themed Color + Sound, featured the Trinidadian designer’s collection, live entertainment and iconic local cuisine.  
 
"To be able to showcase the rich culture of Trinidad & Tobago and present my Summer 2012 capsule collection in the world’s most fashionable city was a dream come true after winning Project Runway,” said Ayoung Chee. “I look forward to representing my country on the world stage as I continue to grow my global fashion brand.”
