Haitian-American Appointed To Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, DC - The Hon. Ronald A. Brise, Commissioner, Public Service Commission of Florida was nominated as the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners’ (NARUC) representative on the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) Board in March.

Chairman Brisé was nominated by NARUC President and South Carolina Public Service Commissioner David Wright.

On Tuesday, May 29 Brise was appointed to the Board by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Hon. Ronald Brise

"I am looking forward to working with the Board because of my passion for minimizing the digital divide that exists in our country". "The experience at USAC will afford me the opportunity to become better acquainted and better equipped with the tools to help connect Americans with one another and with the world using the Internet and other telecommunications services", states Brise.

USAC administers the federal Universal Service Fund (USF) telecommunications programs for high cost companies serving rural areas, low-income consumers, rural health care providers, and schools and libraries.

According to Brise, "I was nominated as the representative of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) on the USAC Board". "I am grateful to Chairman David Wright of NARUC for the nomination and to Chairman Julius Genachowski of FCC for the appointment".
