Miami Carnival Inc. appoints new Board

Miami carnivalMIAMI – The Board of Directors of Miami Carnival Inc. has appointed Asa Sealy as Chairman, replacing Ruthven Williams, who retains his position as Treasurer and also Vice Chairman of the organization.  Newly-appointed Officers are Cynthia Frazier (Assistant Treasurer), Joan Hinkson (Trustee) and Kathryn D’Arcy (Secretary).

Asa Sealy (CEO of Aifos Agency, which offers Marketing, Event Production, and Artiste Management Services) is a successful businessman with interests and clients throughout the United States, as well as in Trinidad & Tobago.  Asa came to Miami Carnival in 2002, working with and being mentored by the late Selman Lewis.  He remains a Board Member of Miami-Broward One Carnival Host Committee, as well as many other successful organizations, including Caribbean American Heritage Florida Inc. and The Rhythm Foundation.

Mr. Sealy stated:  “I am honored to accept the position of Chair of Miami Carnival Inc.  and will do all possible in assisting and clarifying the goals of our organization while emphasizing the strengths of our Directors.  As part of my journey, I will lead the Board to increase our relationships with our stakeholders by working on the Selman Lewis Memorial Scholarship Foundation and events which will benefit our community.  I will also continue to support the production of Miami Broward Carnival, as a Director of Miami-Broward One Carnival Host Committee. Finally, I will be working on a Board succession plan for our organization, ensuring that we will continue to be vibrant and profitable in the future.

I acknowledge the contribution of the late Selman Lewis and Ruthven Williams who both held the positions previously.  I thank you, the Board, in entrusting me with this new position and I will do all I can to move our organization forward.”
