Jamaica Independence Celebrations In South Florida & Orlando
SOUTH FLORIDA – Jamaicans in South Florida and Orlando celebrated their Island Nation’s 52nd Independence with a host of events.

The annual Ecumenical Service to commemorate Jamaica’s 52nd anniversary of Independence on Sunday (Aug. 3) at the Faith Center in Sunrise
Members of chapters Jamaica Ex-Police Association and Jamaica Ex-Soldiers Association of South Florida carrying the national Flags of Jamaica and United States of America (USA) as they led the procession of officiating clergy at the recent annual Ecumenical Service to commemorate Jamaica’s 52nd anniversary of Independence. In background is Bishop Henry Fernandez, Senior Pastor of the Faith Center who was also officiating Minister at the service. Guest preacher was the Rev. Dr. Stephen Clark, Senior Pastor of the Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Miami.
The two-hour service was attended by nearly 1,000 congregants including Jamaican nationals, members of the Diplomatic Corp and Public officials representing Florida State and local government.
