Company Invests In The FCSA’S 41st Leadership Conference

Tallahassee  –   GraceKennedy, one of the Caribbean’s leading multinational entities, through its USA subsidiary, GraceKennedy Foods (USA), LLC, has elevated its annual investment and partnership with the Florida Caribbean Students Association (FCSA) by supporting its upcoming 41st Leadership Conference.

The event,  scheduled for Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida on April 10-12, 2015, will be held under the theme, ““As Separate as the Fingers; But as one as the Hand”. Grace Foods will be the leading corporate sponsor at the event, which is the premier event for college students of Caribbean descent from across the State of Florida and the United States.   Students will participate in a series of professional and leadership development workshops, cultural showcases and civic engagement. They will also get information on GraceKennedy’s ‘Birthright’ Program 2015, which has been restarted after a six year hiatus. The ‘Birthright’ Program is administered by the GraceKennedy Foundation in Jamaica, and offers cultural and professional internship to second and third generation Jamaican students.

“After 93 years, we know that GraceKennedy’s success is due in large part to those in the communities we serve.    That is why we have renewed our commitment to the GraceKennedy Foundation’s Birthright Program for 2015. We are excited to have the students at our company in Jamaica, to learn more about GraceKennedy, while connecting with their roots. It will be a rounded, fulfilling experience, where they will be able to apply what they are learning in their field of study, while receiving invaluable mentorship from senior company leaders,” stated Derrick Reckord, SVP of Commercial Operations, GraceKennedy Foods (USA) LLC.
