City of Miramar teams up with City of Miami Gardens and Nickelodeon to celebrate Parks and Rec Month

National Parks and Recreation MonthMIRAMAR – In celebration of July being National Parks and Recreation Month, more than 200 summer campers in the City of Miramar will enjoy a special day when they join campers from the City of Miami Gardens and the surrounding areas for a day filled with fun, food, games and activities!

The Intercity Summer Games will take place at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Center located at 3000 NW 199th St, Miami Gardens, FL 33056, Thursday, July 30th, from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Not only will the Miramar campers get to celebrate parks and outdoor activities and socialize with other South Florida campers, this year’s festivities will also highlight Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play and Nike’s athletic station!  WWDoP is an annual event designed to encourage children and parents to turn off the television and play — especially outdoors!  The Miramar campers will have the added treat of special guest appearances from Nick’s television, gaming and cartoon shows. Nickelodeon will also be filming and photographing throughout the event.

Just another example of how neighboring cities can work together for the good of all our residents—especially our children!
