Caribbean Bar Association Elects New Officers For 2015-2016

MIAMI – The Caribbean Bar Association held its 19th Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay.

The theme of the Banquet was “Celebrating Unity: Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers.”  The Keynote speaker,  Eugene Pettis, Esq., the first Black President of the Florida Bar, called upon the legal community to work together to address the lack of diversity in leadership in law firms and on the bench.

The Caribbean Bar Association (CBA ) installed its new executive board, recognized three law student scholarship recipients, and honored Babacar M’Bow, Director, Museum of Contemporary Art; Lisa Narcisse, Vice President, Branch Manager of PNC Bank; Embrace Music Foundation; and the Haitian Lawyers Association, for their contributions to the community.

Judges, lawyers and community leaders from across the state attended the event which featured music by steel pan artist Steel Away, Saxophonist Randy Corinthian, and a display of carnival costumes designed by Dru Chuck of Designs by Dru.
