2nd Annual Legends Cricket Weekend Announced By Lawrence Rowe Foundation

LAUDERHILL – The 2nd Annual Cricket Legends Weekend has been announced by The Lawrence Rowe Foundation.  The highly anticipated Exhibition Cricket Match will take place at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida, March 6, 2016.

On Sunday, March 6th, 2016 the Exhibition Cricket Match will feature such legends as “The Great” Barry Richards (South Africa), Lawrence Rowe (Jamaica), Joel Gardner (Barbados), Augustine Logie (Trinidad), Faoud Bacchus, Lance Gibbs, Ramnaresh Sarwan (Guyana), Desmond Haynes with many more legendary cricketer to be announced. The exhibition cricket match will feature two games, Game 1 from 10am to 2pm, and Game 2 from 3pm to 7pm. The event will also have a kids zone, batting cage and much more for a family day of fun.

Since 2011 the Lawrence Rowe Legendary Cricket Foundation’s mission  “Mission of the Heat” extends a helping hand to W.I legends across the Caribbean, and their “Look Good Do Good” program to educate the youths and community about the Jamaican culture, through the sport of Cricket and creative expression, as well as providing Tutoring for children 7-14 years of age.

Founded by Lawrence and Audrey Rowe, the original vision was promoting cricket to the youngsters and to get the sport in schools in South Florida middle through high school. Over time Audrey’s passion for the well-being of youth’s education and culture awareness.

The purpose of the Foundation expanded to promoting educational enrichment, one-on-one mentoring, and tutoring that nurtures academic growth and cultural creativity. Through “Look Good Do Good” tutoring program for children from grades 2nd to 7th, certified teachers assist students who are struggling academically in math and reading.

The Foundation has traveled throughout the Caribbean, North America and England educating the youths of tomorrow and teaching dynamics and makeup of the sport.

The Lawrence Rowe Foundation has once again enlisted the prestigious Spirit of Excellence Events company who were instrumental in assisting with the 2012 New Zealand and West Indies cricket match, and played a functional role in the Lawrence Rowe legendary event in January 2015.  With over 14 years experience in event planning, coordinating with a specialty in marketing & branding, from fundraising to sports related events, The Spirit of Excellence team promises a distinguish top-notch weekend.
